of misadventure.
Well, after riding 97.98098 miles yesterday (09/29) I felt as tired and as physically stressed as I ever have. Spent the night in Piedmont, Alabama near a random freezing cold creek – pretty though. You’ll likely find it on a map, but it’s the smallest of towns.
As for the misadventure part, suffice it to say that I lost the one item that I honestly felt I could not do without: MY CELL PHONE!!!!!!. Yup, imagine riding some 100 miles along the silver comet trail, and various parts of Dallas, GA, without a cell phone. No telling where it is, or better yet, who’s using it.
While lossing my bike would just about end the trip, being cell phone less is nice bit of stress for the first few day’s ride. Add to that the fact that Walmart is the number one suggestion from the locals for replace such an item…
Cheers to everyone I met along the way yestersday – and the random guy who felt the need to share with me EVERY urban legend for each mile marker (he shared about 13 miles of my ride…) .
So, don’t call me, I’ll call you… maybe
